Cédric Coll joins Côme Asset Management as Risk Controller, with a rare profile: rigorous scientific training paired with regulatory expertise gained at the very heart of the authority that oversees the industry.
After a preparatory class in mathematics and physics and then ENSIIE — an engineering degree in computer science and financial mathematics, completed with exchanges in Singapore and Valencia —, he spent three years at Société Générale, on the trading floor, running the tracking of profits, losses and market risk across the bank’s trading activities. He then joined the Autorité des Marchés Financiers for more than five years as an inspector of asset management companies — regulatory controls, on thematics such as the valuation of complex produts, cybersecurity, anti-money laundering, conflicts of interests, and others — before taking on the head of risk role during 8 months at Novaxia Investissement, a real estate asset management company.
At Côme Asset Management, Cédric discovers the entrepreneurial dimension that drew him here: building, from scratch, the full set of risk-monitoring process, across a multi-asset spectrum that very few french asset management companies cover. In fact, few percentage of AMF-licensed asset managers have an agreement for complex financial products — and among them, few hold a licence as broad as Côme’s. A demanding scope he approaches with the tools of his time : valuation and risks models from external sources or internal developments, taking advantage of artificial intelligence efficiency, alongside Côme’s asset managers Laurent Runacher and Antoine Verley.
