Portrait of Julien Magitteri, a man of values, Founder & CEO of Côme Maison of Finance, by novelist Ludovic Roubaudi.
If success affirms certainties, it is trials that forge convictions. After fifteen years at HSBC Private Banking as a wealth manager, and then as Associate Director at the Swiss private bank Bordier & Cie, Julien built the professional expertise needed to establish strong certainties. But it was the personal challenges he overcame that strengthened his deepest convictions. “With hindsight, I can say that those moments of change were rich in lessons for me, and I came to realize that mutual support is the mother of all values.”
It was to share these values that he founded and presided over an entrepreneurs’ club to “gather, transmit, and encourage” all those who wished to build. He also served as a municipal elected official, overseeing his city’s finance committee and general administration.
At the same time, he decided to create Côme: a new-generation family office. “Breaking with the traditional models I had worked within for fifteen years, I chose to develop more modern tools and approaches, better suited to today’s realities: the volatility of financial markets and the erosion of returns require us to be faster, more agile, and above all proactive. And to remain fully independent in our decisions and advice, I opted for a fee-based model.” This economic model, which gives him the necessary perspective on the market, also allows him to better support his entrepreneurial clients through the key stages of their professional and wealth journeys.
“I would say that my vocation lies where my talents meet the ambitions of my clients — and the needs of the world around us.”
